Srisailam
Srisailam is one of the most sacred pilgrimage centers in INDIA which is situated on the banks of River Krishna, in Kurnool district on one of the Hills in the Nallamallai Hills of Eastern Ghats in Andhra Pradesh. The presiding deities are Lord Mallikarjuna and Goddess Bhramarambika.

Srisailam is the seat of one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in INDIA, the form of Lord Shiva (Linga) as Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy. It is also the seat of one of the 51 Shakthi Peetas, of Goddess Kali(Sati) as Goddess Bhramarambika. Even it is popular with a name called Dakshina Kasi.

How to Reach Srisailam by air?

As such, there are no airways facility to Srisailam. We can reach to Srisailam either by using Busses or Cabs or Taxi’s from Hyderabad airport, which is the nearest airport to Srisailam.  The distance to Srisailam is around 200 KMs from Rajiv Gandhi international Airport in Hyderabad and about 77 Kms from Nallamalla.

Bus Journey fares

The cost of Ticket from Hyderabad to Srisailam is ranges to Rs. 100/- to 150/- in case of Adults and Rs. 50/- to 100/- in case of Children.

How to reach Srisailam by Rail Journey?

The train facility is available up to Kurnool only from Hyderabad.  From there the pilgrims have to take support of either APSRTC bus or any other Private Vehicles to reach Srisailam.

Accommodation at Srisailam:

There are plenty of Chowltries / satrams for reasonable prices. But they are not luxury accommodations. There are few lodges and hotels in Srisailam with affordable rates.

The places like Dindi Project, Uma Maheswara swamy temple at Achampet, Nallamalla Thick forest, Srisailam Dam, Sakshi Ganapathi temple, Paladhara – panchadara, Istakameswari, Salaswaram, Madhimadugu, Mallalla Teram, Patala Ganga, Rope Way,  Temples of Mallikarjuna and Brahmarambika, Sikareswaram are some of the famous tourism places in Srisailam.

Weather forecast in Nallamalla

The weather in Nallamalla is a pleasant and bearable for the pilligrims throughout the year where we can enjoy the trip. Heavy rainfull will be noted in Nalamalla during the month of June – September. The best time to visit this place is in between September – February.
