Catholic Church, Yanam Location Map and Entry Fee | Holidays and Timings of Catholic Church
St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Yanam was built by French Missionaries in 1846 with most of imported materials from France. As per local folk tales a 1000 ton weighed ship named Villiam B. Augustus was caught in a storm and struched in a sandy island here and crew of ship was unable to push back it into the waters. Then an engineer of the ship named E. H. Swini worshipped Mother Mary and of a sudden the ship moved into water. He built the church later. Two temples are also built in premises of this church.
